David Gerald "Jerry" Hunt, 71, of Indian Wells Circle, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, in Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem after an extended illness.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Central Baptist Church by the Revs. Ryan Bennett and Billy Sloop. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park with Masonic graveside rites.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mr. Hunt was born Dec. 26, 1939, in Davidson County to David Clifford Hunt and Edna Baldwin Hunt. He was owner/operator of Jerry Hunt Auto Sales & Truck Center and a member of Carolina Independent Auto Dealer Association. He was a graduate of Lexington High School in 1958, a member of Lexington Memorial Lodge 473, past master of Masonic Lodge in Surry County, a member of Oasis Shrine Temple and Scottish Rite. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and a deacon. He was a Pass Pilot and involved in the Civil Air Patrol.
Surviving are his wife, Martha Lanning Hunt of the home; a son, Todd Hunt of Lexington; two grandchildren, Danielle Hunt and Chase Hunt; and two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Bullard and husband Bill and Carol Epley and husband Glenn, all of Lexington.
