Jerry Wayne Lanning, 72, of Riverview Road, died Friday, December 02, 2011, at Wake Forest Baptist Health – Lexington Medical Center, following a two year illness.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2011, at Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Billy Pearson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of his daughter, Teresa Hoffner on Riverview Road.
Mr. Lanning was born September 15, 1939, in Davidson County, to Luther Odell Lanning and Nellie Lanning. He was retired from PPG. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Lanning; and sisters, Betty Lou Shore, Lib Miller, and Reba Lanning.
Surviving are his wife, Gail Lomax Lanning of the home; daughters, Teresa Hoffner and husband, Larry, and Vickie L. Weaver and husband, Robert, both of Lexington; grandchildren, Jennifer Hines and Zackery Hines and wife, Christen; great-grandchildren, Abel Costilla, Izayah Holden, and Cullen Hines; his special friend, Dag, and several nieces and nephews.
