Jerry "Chub" Leonard finally found peace and went to be with his Savior on January 18, 2026. In 1975, Jerry accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. From that time on, he said this world was not his home. But he had a hard time living for the Lord while walking in this world. He now is at rest.
He was born August 3, 1941, in Currytown to Marvin Elvin Leonard and Lorene Curry Leonard. He enjoyed doing projects, shooting pool, and was a fanatic flea marketer to the point of hoarding. In his later years, his health declined and he could no longer do these things, was very depressed and was ready to go to Heaven. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Marty Franklin Curry; brother and sister-in-law, Winfred Leonard Sr. and Elsie Brown Leonard.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldene Hilton Leonard; son, Mitchell Leonard (Leanna); five grandchildren, Tara Correia (Greg), Troy Curry, Mason Leonard, Morgan Leonard, J.T. Teeter; five great-grandchildren, Oakley Waisner, Brooke, Logan, Zane, and Rave Correia, and his fur baby, Bubba.
A graveside service will be Saturday, January 24th at 11am at Maple Grove Church of the Brethren. The family will meet at 4pm on Thursday for a private service and then the body will lie in state on Friday for the public at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.
