Jerry Edward Lohr, Sr. age 76 of Popular St., Lexington died Friday, December 11, 2009 in Hinkle Hospice House after 5 years declining health.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Salisbury with Military Honors.
Mr. Lohr was born August 12, 1933 in Guilford County to John Edward Lohr and Bonnie Wilson Lohr. A former employee of NC Dept. of Transportation, he was of the Baptist faith.
He served in the US Army for 14 years, during the Vietnam Era. He was preceded in death by two sons, Norman Dale Lohr, Eddie Wayne Lohr and a brother, Walter Lohr
Surviving are is wife, Jettie (Peggy) Griffie Lohr of Winston Salem; sons, John (Pedro) Lohr of the home, Jerry (Bo) Lohr of Reeds; a daughter, Peggy Lohr Wafford of the home; four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Sybil Lohr of Thomasville.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
