Jerry Moorefield, 74, of Old Mill Farm Rd., Lexington died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at Forsyth Medical Center, with his loving family by his side.
A funeral service will be 3 pm Sunday November 30, 2014, at Reedy Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Egbert Craven, Jr. officiating services. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mr. Moorefield was born July 16, 1940, in Forsyth County, to James Oliver Moorefield and Hazel Reid Moorefield. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and a sister.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Gayle Walser Moorefield of the home; son, Eddie Wayne Moorefield and wife Saundra of Lexington; daughters, Paula Moorefield Booze and husband Michael of Walnut Cove, Christy Moorefield Musgrave and husband Brian of Lexington; a brother, John Moorefield and wife Kathy of Lexington; two sisters, Frances Swicegood of Lexington and Brenda Berrier of Archdale; three grandchildren, Whitney Moorefield, Trevor and Cody Musgrave; one great-grandson, Brayden Manor of Lexington; two sisters-in-law, Kaye Moorefield of Lexington and Suzie Moorefield of Climax.
