Jerry Wayne Morris

Jerry Wayne Morris, age 82, passed away at his home in Lexington on Monday, November 20, 2023. He was born on July 22, 1941, to the late Odell Kiser Morris and Ella Mae Leonard Morris. Wayne was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shelia Edwards Morris.

Wayne was a dedicated lifelong member of Pilgrim Reformed Church.  His commitment to faith was evident in the values he upheld throughout his life.  He enjoyed hunting, riding motorcycles and horses.

Professionally, Wayne worked 26 years for Lexington Telephone, contributing his skills and knowledge to the telecommunications industry.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: sons Michael Morris (Lea) and Jeffrey Morris, and daughter Jennifer Morris Perrell (Aaron). Wayne is also survived by his brothers Dermont Odell Morris and Joe Morris (Helen). He leaves behind a legacy of love and family.

Wayne's warmth and kindness extended to his 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, who will fondly remember the special moments shared with their beloved grandfather.

A funeral service to celebrate Wayne's life will be held on Sunday, November 26, at 2:00 pm at Pilgrim Reformed Church with Pastor Richard Moore officiating. Prior to the service, friends and family are invited to a visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. The burial will take place in the church cemetery.
