Jerry Robert Parsons

Jerry Robert Parsons, 77, with grace and strength stepped into eternity after a lengthy illness May 12, 2019. Jerry was born on September 9, 1941, in North Wilkesboro, NC to the late Leff and Thelma Parsons. He retired from Wachovia after 25 years.

He was a Deacon and a choir member at Southside Baptist Church for many years. Jerry was known for his love of cooking, contagious laughter, sense of humor, and positive, gregarious spirit that entertained and touched people's lives in a way that will never be forgotten. Most of all he was proudest of his loving wife and raising their four children.

Left to cherish his memories is his beautiful wife of 56 years, Barbery Parsons (Bobbie) of Winston-Salem; sons, Robert Michael Parsons of Lake Norman and Marty Wayne Parsons and daughter-in-law Lisa Law of Winston-Salem; his daughters, Shelia Lynn Sellers and son-in-law David Sellers of Lexington and Amanda Hope Rogers of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Wesley Sellers, Tyler Sellers, Alex Rodgers, Kurtis Rodgers and great grandchild Bayleigh Sellers. His brother Billy Joe Parsons of North Wilkesboro; half-brothers, Glenn Parsons of Virginia, Jack Parsons of North Wilkesboro; half-sisters, Carolyn Clark of Lexington and Judy Parsons of North Wilkesboro; as well as a host of loving cousins and their families.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; Veatrice Anderson Parsons (Stepmother); brothers, Jimmy Parsons, Tommy Parsons, and Leff Jr. Parsons; and sister, Cora Sue Wagner.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm–1:00 pm prior to the 1:00 pm Celebration of Life Service in the chapel on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Davidson Funeral Home, 858 Hickory Tree Road, Winston-Salem, NC.
