Jerry Stanford

M.SGT, Jerry Stanford, USAF, RET., age 67 of Old Mill Farm Road, Lexington passed away Thursday in Salisbury.   Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Monday in the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with Rev. Ralph Byrd officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park, with full military honors by the United States Air Force and Davidson County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Sunday and at other times at the home of his mother, on Park Circle, Lexington.   Jerry was a loving father, son and brother and loved the mountains. Jerry was born in Davidson County, March 29, 1946 to Roy and Ruth Elizabeth Stanford. He was retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service for his country. He fought in the Vietnam War and received, Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Vietnam Campaign Medal and The Meritorious Medal. He was preceded in death by his father; son, Sean Luc Stanford in 2009 and a brother, Ronnie Craig Stanford.   Jerry is survived by a daughter, Jacineth Michelle Stanford of Lexington; his mother of Lexington; grandson, Sean Elijah Stanford; special sister, Jeanette James (Delbert) of Lexington; nieces, Ginger Nanney of Mooresville and Julie Humphries of Wilmington; aunts, Lottie Trull and Sylvia Smith of Candler, Vinnie Whitted of Asheville; Uncle, Bill Whitted of Candler and several cousins.   Online Condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
