Jerry Wayne Stiers

Jerry Wayne Stiers, 77, of Green Meadows Drive, died Monday, July 11, 2016, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center following a short illness. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Coggins Memorial Baptist Church with the Revs. Dr. Dearl Bunce and Ishmael Ramos officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 13, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home. Mr. Stiers was born July 21, 1938, in Davidson County, to J.G. Stiers and Mary Pearl Brogdon Stiers. He was a cook for Southmont Diner and a member of Coggins Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Stiers served in the U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Stiers. Surviving are his loving wife, Sonja Kerley Stiers of the home; sons, David Stiers and fiancé Belinda and Keith Stiers and fiancé Brenda, all of Lexington; daughter, Missy Reams and husband Dean of Lexington; grandchildren, Gary Stiers and A.J. Odom; great-grandchildren, Destiny Stiers and Hailey Stiers; and sister-in-law, Chris Stiers. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Coggins Memorial Baptist Church, Children’s Ministries, 1306 South Main Street, Lexington, NC 27292.
