Jerry Don "Pop" Tysinger Sr. was born on April 4, 1946, to Voyles and Vivian Waisner Tysinger. On November 19, 2023, surrounded by his family and many friends, he peacefully passed away at the Hinkle Hospice House, making his way to Jesus.
Jerry wore many hats throughout his life, working as a skilled brick mason and electrician before facing disability with resilience for many years. He was a devoted husband for 60 years, a loving brother to Debbie Shoaf (Woody) of Lexington, and a cherished father to three children, all residing in Lexington. His legacy lives on through his sons Donnie Tysinger (India) and Patrick Tysinger (Mitzi), and his daughter Brandi Tysinger Temple (Will).
Jerry was not only a family man but also a friend to his loyal canine companion, Melly, whom he loved dearly. His parents, Voyles and Vivian, preceded him in death, but he leaves behind a rich tapestry of love and memories.
Jerry, known affectionately as "Pop," is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia Coppley Tysinger. He took great pride and joy in his eight grandchildren: Brooke Miller (Adam), Jordan Lanham (Joe), Elizabeth "Lolly" Yates (Bradley), Breanna "Brebre" Cavender (Daniel), Kade Roach (Gabby), Clay Temple, Vivian Tysinger, and Bella Temple. His legacy continues through his eight great-grandchildren: Liam Miller, Aiden Lanham, LiLah Lanham, Joseph Lanham, Evie Lanham, Emersyn Yates, Ivey Yates, and Brooks Temple.
Jerry's delight was evident in the visits from his beloved family, and each one was his pride and joy. A celebration of his life is to be planned at a later date, where friends and family will come together to honor and remember the wonderful man who touched so many hearts. Jerry Don "Pop" Tysinger Sr. will be dearly missed but forever remembered for the love he shared and the memories he created.
