Jerry Wood

Jerry Brice Wood, 78 of Lexington, passed away on November 28, 2023, at Brookstone Nursing Home in Lexington. A funeral service will be 1pm Friday at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Seth Dunlap officiating. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Jerry was born on August 28, 1945, in Davidson County to Charles Lee Wood and Effie Ball Hayes Wood. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Hoyle Edward Wood and James Luther Wood. Surviving is his niece, Kathy Grubb (Richard Grubb, Jr.) and several great nieces, nephews, and cousins. His great nephew, Dwayne Perdue, Jr., of Lexington was close to Jerry and visited him often at the Brookstone facility. The family would like to give honorable mention to two special caregivers at Brookstone, Savannah Hogle and Stacey Bowen, who were very close to Jerry and loved him dearly.
