Jesse James Smith, 70, of Greensboro Street Ext., passed away Tuesday June 10, 2014, at Select Specialty Hospital at Forsyth Medical Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Preacher Clyde Akers. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2014, at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
Mr. Smith was born May 27, 1944, in Beaver County, Pa., to Hazel Smith and was a retired Truck Driver. His mother, Hazel Smith Kitchen and a brother Robert Lee Smith preceded him in death. He was a long time member and President of Thomasville Moose Lodge #1868. He avidly loved hanging out at Moose Lodge. Also bowling, throwing darts, fishing, Nascar and was a big University North Carolina Tarheel and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was a forever teenager at heart and refused to grow up.
Surviving are his daughters, Princess Parker (Shawn) of Winston Salem, Cathy Smith (Jim) of Danbridge, Tenn., and Christine Wallace (Keith) of Ft. Myers, Fl.; nine grandchildren, Jessica, David, Casey, Cari, Jordan Robert, Jordan Michael, Brian, Bridget, and Brandon; nine great-grandchildren, Jacob, A.J. Justin, Alydia, Chloe, Jeniah, Eligah, Cameron, and Brynli; brother, Dave (Butch) Kitchen (Cathy) of Pickerington, Ohio; nieces, Chelsey Kitchen and Robin Herriman of Ohio; and nephew, Matt Kitchen of Ohio.
