Jesse Ray Taylor

Jesse Ray Taylor, 74, of Lexington, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at his home.

Jesse was born on January 31, 1949, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late Josephine Fry and Jesse Roy Taylor.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard and four sisters, Lynda, Margaret, Lois, and Georgia.  Jesse was a loving father, grandfather, and friend.  He owned and operated Jesse Taylor Roofing for 57 years.  Roofing was his passion.  He also enjoyed the beach, fishing, and Elvis.  He will be deeply missed and, in our hearts, forever.

Left to cherish Jesse’s memories are Rita Curley (Life Partner) of Lexington; one son, Boyd Taylor (Theresa) of Lexington; two daughters, Andrea Glass (Sam) and Marlo McSwain (Bobby) of Winston-Salem; extended family, Scott Curley (Angie) of Lexington; four grandchildren, David Taylor, John Wallace, Carolyn Glass, and Sara Glass.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Friedberg Moravian Church conducted by Pastor Jim Newsome.
