Jessica Elaine Powell

Jessica “Jess” Powell, 35, of Lexington, NC died Sunday May 7, 2023. May the winds of heaven blow softly….and whisper in your ear, how much we love and miss you, and wish that you were here. Jessica was born on September 6, 1987, by her surviving parents Debra and Bryan Starnes; her brother Michael Powell; sister Leslie (Brown) Harper; niece and nephew, Zayne and Alexis Powell. She also leaves behind her soul mate Jermey Shaw and cat Lyric, who she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Peggy Kelly; and uncle Danny Kelly.

“Give me strength, not to be better than my enemies, but to defeat my greatest enemy, the doubts within myself. Give me strength of a warrior, so when life fades, as the setting sun, my spirit may come to you Lord like the blow of the winds and as a feather that falls from the sky as a gift of honor and love.” Forever loved!

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Jessica’s name to the Humane Society 1120 Piedmont Drive, Lexington NC 27295 or the Homeless Shelter of Davidson County (Davidson County First Hope Ministries) 107 E. 1 ^st Ave. #3335 Lexington, NC 27292.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Saturday May 13, 2023 at Davidson Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm at the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel. Burial will follow at the Victory Baptist Church Cemetery in Lexington.
