Jessie Vestal Ingram

Jessie Yarbrough Vestal Ingram, age 95 of Raeford Avenue, Lexington passed away Saturday night at Hinkle Hospice House.   Interment service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday at Forest Hill Memorial Park followed by a Memorial service at 2:00 pm Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Kelly Groce officiating. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday.   Jessie was born in Davie County, February 23, 1919 to Rev. J.W. and Erna Yarbrough Vestal. She was a graduate of Greensboro College; retired after 23 years of service as a Guidance Counselor and English Teacher with Davidson County Schools working at Reeds and West Davidson High Schools. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she served on numerous committees, member of United Methodist Women and the Jessie Ingram Circle, named in her honor. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifton “Cliff” Eugene Ingram, Sr. in 1987.   Surviving are her daughter, Kathie Ingram Williams (Dee) of Greensboro; sons, Joe Vestal Hester Ingram (Penny) of Wolcott, Vermont and Clifton Eugene “Gene” Ingram (Mary) of Lexington; grandchildren, Jill Spencer, Jan Williams, Cindy Ryan, Hillary Waddell, Amanda Ingram, Clifton Ingram, Anna Howell, Nina Smith, Gerry Moree and Wesley Moree; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Kate James of Richmond, VA.   In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to First United Methodist Church, 310 South Main Street, Lexington, NC 27292, Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC  27292 or to Crisis Ministry of Davidson County, 107 East First Avenue, Lexington, NC 27292.     Online Condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
