Jim Barton, Jr.

On Tuesday, December 10, James (Jim) D. Barton, Jr, 77, of St. Cloud Florida passed away at the Orlando VA Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, December 22, at First Baptist Church in Lexington, NC.

The family will see friends following the service in the fellowship hall.

Jim was born on January 25, 1942, in Lexington, NC to James D. Barton and Miheepa (Harb) Jones.

He honorably served his country in the US Army. After leaving the service Jim continued his career in the Information Systems field. Music was his passion, he loved singing in the church choir and the Lexington Choral Society and he so enjoyed playing the saxophone. He was proceeded in death by his father and his brothers: Tim Jones and Wilburn Jones.

He is survived by his mother, his wife of 56 years, Brenda (Banks) Barton, his sons, Phillip Barton of Denver, Colorado, Erick Barton (Tonya) of Cameron, NC, Marc Barton (Julissa) of Kissimmee, FL, daughter Anna Walker (Stan) of Kissimmee, FL, sister Josephine (Michael) Clodfelter (Darryl) of Lexington, NC, and grandchildren: Kirsten Walker, Jacob Walker, Brian Walker, Andrew Barton, Zack Short, Bryanna Cardenas, and Evan Cardenas.
