Jim "Redeye" Thomason

February 22, 1935 — December 8, 2018

Jim "Redeye" Thomason age 83 of Bowers Road, passed away at his home on Saturday, December 8, 2018.     A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13 at Second Reformed United Church of Christ by the Reverend Jim Luck. Burial will follow at the Lexington City Cemetery.     The family will receive friends in the church parlor following the service.   Mr. Thomason was born on February 22, 1935  to G.C. Thomason and Beulah Everhart Thomason and spent his entire life in Davidson County. Jim was a lifelong member of Second Reformed United Church of Christ and was a member of the Sco Burkhart Class.  Jim retired as V.P of Lexington State Bank with over 30 years of service.  Jim maintained a close friendship with the people he worked with at the bank.  He was a great friend to many including his customers. Long after he retired from the bank, people would approach him and recant stories of how he loaned them money for their first car and how they missed him.  Jim knew his customers well and they appreciated the fact that he never let them down.     He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice Hinkle Thomason; and a son, James Darrell Thomason Jr.   Surviving are his son, Randy Thomason and wife Susan; sister Judy Rogers and husband Rudy; stepson Eric Reich; grandchildren, Ashley Thomason and husband Shane Hutcheson; Jonathan Thomason and wife Cameron, all of Lexington; Robert Thomason and wife Shannon of Advance; great-grandchildren Eli, Cooper, and Palmer Thomason; special niece Tabitha Lambe (Jack Edwards) of North Myrtle Beach; close friend and neighbor Mike Noyes.   A special thanks to Rita Ricker and Kim Mauro.  Also the family would like to acknowledge the excellent staff at Restoration Internal Medicine; Phil Land PA, Lexi, Jesse and Penny.   Memorials may be made to Second Reformed United Church of Christ, 330 N Church Street, Lexington, NC  27292.
