Jim Towery

November 27, 1944 — January 25, 2008

James "Jim" Eddie Towery, 63, of Conrad Street, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, with his loving family surrounding him at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at National Cemetery with the Rev. Doug McGee officiating. Mr. Towery was born Nov. 27, 1944, to Ronell Blaine Towery and Ivy Faye Snider Towery. He was a former employee of Parkdale Mills and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Amvets Post 13 and the American Legion Post 8. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Ronald Ray Towery. He is survived by two daughters, Angela Towery of Lexington and Jamie Orr and her husband, Robert, of Advance; three grandchildren, Jordan Koontz, Chelsey Orr and Summer Orr; his father; a brother, Larry B. Towery and Pat Tetter of Lexington; and the mother of his children, Gail Draughn and her husband, Larry, of Mocksville. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel and at other times at the home of his daughter, Angela Towery, 226 Vance St. Memorials may be directed to the Jim Towery Family, c/o Davidson Funeral Home, 301 N. Main St., Lexington, NC 27292.
