Jimmie Wayne Kennedy

Jimmie Kennedy, age 77, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at the Hinkle Hospice House, with his loving family by his side.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am April 26, 2022, at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury with Pastor Keith Perkins officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 21, 2022, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.

Jimmie was born in Davidson County on October 8, 1944, to Roland Kennedy and Essie Jordan Walker. Jimmie was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and proudly served his country in the US Navy. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons Donald Eugene Ridge, Freddie Dewayne Ridge, brother Tommy Kennedy; and his grandson, Jonathan O'Neil Byerly.

Surviving are his loving wife of 44 years, Nellie Johnston Kennedy of the home; his sons, Charles Wayne Ridge (LeAnn), Robert Eugene Ridge (LeeAnn), Wilson Dameron Kennedy; his daughters, Debbie Ridge Byerly (Roger), Regenia Ridge Sowers (David), Kristy Kennedy Weisner (Cory), twelve grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren.
