Jimmy Donald Baker

Jimmy Donald Baker, 80, of Badin Shore Circle in New London, passed away Friday November 4, 2022 at his home.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Lick Creek Baptist Church in Denton North Carolina, where he was a member, with Pastors Steve Kiger and Hulin Pait and Preacher Clyde Akers  officiating services. Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Winston Salem.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.

Mr. Baker was born November 20,1 941 in Davidson County to Nathan Edward Baker and Helen Mae Johnson Baker. He was owner operator of J&L Construction and was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Marvin Baker, Robert Baker and Ricky Baker, and a sister, Janice Strickland.

Surviving is his wife, Linda Crowell Baker, of the home; three daughters, Lisa Baker Hawley (Bennett) of High Point and Angela Surratt (Anthony) of Lexington and Ashley Hoover (Jeffrey) of Lexington; three sons, Donald Baker (Lisa Bradley) of Mocksville, Jimmy “Bud” Baker of Lexington, and Derek Gurley (Regina) of Denton  three brothers, Billy Baker of Tyro, Larry Baker (Donna) of Lexington, and Eddie Baker (Laura) of Lexington; seven sisters, Shirley King of Tyro, Carol Long (Charles) of Advance, Debra Walser Ronnie of Lexington, Sandra Murry (Jimmy) of Thomasville, Patty Burrow (Mark) of Asheboro , Karen Coggins (Don) of  Denton, and Donna Bivens (Chris) of Lexington; 8 grandchildren, Erica Baker, Brittany Holloway (Steven Ward), Emily Baker, Troy Holloway, Deitra Eanes (Aaron), Alexis Baker, Hannah Hoover, Leah Hoover and Nessa Surratt and 4 great-grandchildren, Lincoln Holloway, Kinsley Ward, Julie Wood and Katie Furgoson.
