Jimmy Forrest

Jimmy Shuford Forrest, 85, Thomasville, passed away January 3, 2024, at Magnolia Gardens in Thomasville.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Minister Mike Owens officiating the service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday night at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel. Burial will follow in the Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Mr. Forrest was born June 18, 1939, in Davidson County, to Peter Wilson Forrest and Nellie Virginia Michael Forrest. He was of the Baptist faith. Jimmy worked for Davis Chevrolet, loved hunting, fishing, and old cars. His passion was his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, who will be missed by all. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Darla Kay Massey Forrest.

Left to cherish his memories are his sons, Chris Forrest, Mitchell Forrest (Shelly) both of Lexington, Daughter, Tammie Hartman (Barry) of Salisbury. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Justin Motley, Joshua Motley (Amanda), Casey Forrest, great grandchildren, Kaile, Sydney, Chance, Lane, Mason, Nathan, and Noah. And his four-legged side kick Dub.

The family has asked to come in bib overalls or casual dress in honor of Jimmy.
