Jimmy Stewart George, 67, of Hardwood Lane, died Tuesday, March 02, 2010, at Hinkle Hospice House.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Rev. Gary Shipes officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mr. George was born October 22, 1942, in Forsyth County, to Charlie Lee George and Irene Stewart George. In his early career, he had worked for Lexington Fire Department and later for Lacy J. Miller Tool Co., from which he was retired. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are his wife, Rita Shore George of the home; son, Jason George and fiancé, Christy Cromer, of Lexington; daughters, Sheila George Roberson and husband, Larry, of High Point; three grandchildren, Nicholas Roberson, Joshua Roberson, and Jacob Cromer; great-grandchild Makayla Roberson; brothers, Johnny Lee George and wife, Glenda, of Clemmons, Bobby George and wife, Jane, and Gary George and wife, Shirley, all of Kernersville; and a sister, Barbara Helms and husband, Rob, of Georgia.
