Former Sheriff Jimmy Earl Johnson, 71, of Johnson Farm Road, passed away Wednesday August 1, 2018 at his home.
A funeral service will be held 12:00 pm Saturday at Macedonia United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with Rev. Tammy Talbert and Rev. Arnette Beverly officiating services. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his daughter on Johnson Farm Road.
Mr. Johnson was born May 18, 1947 in Davidson County to James Johnson and Sarah McClure Johnson. He was the former Sheriff of Davidson County, a member of the Sheriff’s Association, a member of the Masonic Lodge #473 and a Vietnam Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Judy Raye Hunt Johnson.
Surviving are his two daughters, Sara Turner and husband Chris and Sandra Beck and husband Chris, all of Lexington; a sister, Brenda James and husband Jerry; four grandchildren, Jessica Raye McKim and husband Aaron, Drew Turner, Jacob Turner and Claire Beck , all of Lexington, and close friend Diana Cooke.
