Jimmy Ray Kimrey Jr.

James Ray Kimrey Jr “Jimmy,” age 72, of Lexington died July 25, 2025, at Abbott’s Creek Nursing Home in Lexington, NC receiving rehabilitation.

Jimmy was born November 26, 1952, in Guilford County, NC to James Ray Kimrey Sr and Harriet Murray Kimrey. He worked in maintenance at the Westin Hotel in Hilton Head, SC. Jimmy was an avid guitar enthusiast, and he loved the beach. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Mary Lou Kimrey Forshee and Sallie Elizabeth Kimrey.

Surviving is a brother, Bruce Kimrey (Glenda); sister, Susan Harmon (Walter “Kip”); brother-in-law, Eddie Forshee; a host of nieces and nephews, and special friends, the Taylor’s of Charleston, SC.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
