Jimmy Lanier

Jimmy Roswell Lanier, age 83, of Lexington passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at his home.   A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with the Rev. Barry Queen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.   Mr. Lanier was born in Davidson County on September 10, 1934 to James Nathaniel Lanier and Nona Michael Lanier. He was retired from Stroh Brewery and was a member of Ebenezer UMC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Lanier; and two sisters, Emogene Cope and Peggy Phelps.   Surviving are his son, Drake Lanier of Lexington; his daughter, Traci Lanier of Lexington; two brothers, Dwight Lanier (Annie Mae) of Greensboro and Ralph Lanier of Dobson; two granddaughters, Meaghan O’Riordan (Simon) and Grace Lanier; and his K9 companion, Brutus.     Memorials may be directed to Ebenezer United Methodist Church at 1087 Leonard Road, Lexington, NC 27295.
