Jimmy William Lively, 92, of Lexington, passed away Tuesday June 30th , 2026, at the Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington.
A Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday July 8th, 2026, at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church with Father Huver Navarro and Rev. Dianne Horton officiating services. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.
Mr. Lively was born December 16th , 1933, in Beckley, Raleigh County, West Virgina to George Cleveland Lively Sr. and Stella Estell Smith Lively. Jimmy faithfully served his country in the Army National Guard before dedicating 35 years of service to Florida Power Corporation, where he built a career marked by hard work and commitment. In his free time, he found joy in life's simple pleasures—tending to his yard, watching the birds with a good cup of coffee in hand, and listening to the familiar sounds of Bluegrass music. Above all else, Jimmy treasured the time he spent with his beloved wife, Delia, who was the love of his life for more than 65 years, and with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Delia Shelton Arthur Lively; a daughter Melody Jane Lively; brothers, Beaulis Lively and George Cleveland Lively Jr., half- brothers, Eugene Lively and Elmont Lively; and a sister Wanda Lively Smith.
Jimmy is survived by his son, Michael Lively (Lisa) of Texas; his daughter, Kathy Crafford (Don) of Lexington 4 grandchildren, Amanda Robeson (Sam) of Texas, Melody Brown (Joshua) of Texas, Travis Witherington (Amelia) of Lexington and Joshua Snyder of Florida; one step-grandson, Bradley Crafford (Stephanie); one step great granddaughter, Hadley; and 2 great grandchildren Denasha and Donovon
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Life Center of Davidson County.
