Jimmy Lowery Koonts, 58, of Happy Hill Court, died Monday, May 19, 2008, at his home,
after declining health for several months.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Rev. Sharon Englebretsen. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park with Masonic graveside rites by Masonic Forsyth 707.
Mr. Koonts was born October 7, 1949, in Davidson County, to William Rudolph Koonts and Margaret Smith Koonts. He was employed with Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center for 20 years in Management Surplus. He was a member of Jersey Baptist Church and served in the National Guard. Mr. Koonts was preceded in death by his mother.
Surviving are his wife, Ala Jo Tester Koonts of the home; a daughter, Shelley Koonts Pack and husband, Michael, of Lexington; grandson, James Pack; his father of Lexington; a brother, Rudy Koonts and wife, Elizabeth, of Lexington; and his father in law, Cecil Tester of Lexington, and a large extended family.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
