Jimmy Reid Manus

Born on May 4, 1943, in Monroe, Union County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Carl and Laura Manus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Carl Manus Jr.; his sister, Mary Snider; his son-in-law, Richard Price; and two grandchildren, Jeffrey Shawn Garrett and Bradley Aaron Garrett.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Judy Manus, the love of his life; his children, Lisa Price, Jeff Garrett (Penny), Jimmy Garrett (Angela), and Ronda Jennings; his siblings, Bobby Manus and Barbara Haigler (James); his grandchildren, Brandon Price (Labreska), Chad Price (April), Andrew Garrett (Hanna), Cameron Garrett, Mason Jennings (Michelle), and Garrett Jennings; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews whom "Poppa" loved dearly.

He was a hardworking man who took pride in his work and loved spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication, and the love he shared with those around him.

He was a faithful member of Wayside Tabernacle Free Will Baptist Church in Thomasville, North Carolina.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 7. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the church. His son, Rev. Jimmy Garrett will officiate.
