Jimmy Clyde Merritt age 76 of Charlie Hinkle Road, Lexington passed away Saturday afternoon February 27, 2016 at Hinkle Hospice. A funeral service will be at 3;00 pm Tuesday March 1, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Thomasville where he was a member, conducted by Revs. Barry Surratt and Bynum Orr and burial to follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park . The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:30 pm prior to the service and at other times at the home. Mr. Merritt was born March 15, 1939 in Davidson County to Clyde Roosevelt and Winnie Ellen Everhart Merritt. He was retired from Pet Dairy He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Peggy White and a brother in law, Rev. Dan Walser. Surviving are his wife, Deanna Walser Merritt of the home . A son, Joey (Susan) Merritt of Lexington. A brother, Jack Merritt of Olin NC. His Grandchildren, Jenny (Jeremy) Ferguson and Rebecca (Nick) Byerly all of Thomasville and Elizabeth Merritt of High Point. His Great Grandchildren, Caroline Ferguson, Isaiah Ferguson and Eli Byerly. Also surviving are sisters in law, Joanie (Gerry) Lookabill and Joyce Walser. A brother in law, Randy (Donna) Walser.
