Jimmy Edwin Waitman

James “Jimmy” Edwin Waitman, 86, of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Lexington Health Care Center.

A private family graveside service will be held at Becks Reformed Church Cemetery.

Mr. Waitman was born March 19, 1936, in Davidson County to Clifton Sylvester Waitman and Helen Amanda Golightly Waitman. He was a member of Becks Reformed Church. Jimmy graduated from Lexington High School and retired from Lexington Home Brands (Young Hinkle Plant). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Robin Renee Waitman Fulp in August 2015 due to cancer; and sister, Nancy Lou Waitman.

Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Dora Maxine Leonard Waitman of the home; son, Craig Alan Waitman (Teresa) of Lexington; brother, Steve Waitman (Cathy) of Lexington; three grandchildren, Wesley Waitman (Jordan), Julie Casey (Pat), and Andy Fulp (Samantha); five great-grandchildren, Abigail Casey, Caroline Casey, Payton Fulp, Elliot Fulp, Liam Fulp; and son in-law, Sam Fulp (Nancy).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Becks Reformed Church or to Hospice of Davidson County 200 Hospice Way Lexington, NC 27292
