Jimmy Richard Walser, Sr. age 81 of Sink Farm Road, Lexington passed away Friday night at Lexington Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 Wednesday (11-05-2008) at Tyro United Methodist Church Chapel with Rev. Randy Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery with military honors given by VFW Post 3074
Jimmy was the last surviving of twelve children, born in Davidson County, January 23, 1927 to Henry Lee Walser and Mary Farabee Walser. He was retired from maintenance department of Lexington State Bank and a carpenter. He was a member of Tyro United Methodist Church, a veteran of the US Navy having served in World War II and a member of VFW Post 3074. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Frances Juanita Bowman Walser who died in 2003, a great granddaughter, Zoe Grace Osborne, seven sisters, Grace, Frances, Zula, Lillian, Ruth, Helen and Eleanor; four brothers, Raymond, Roebuck, Thurman and Harold.
Surviving are: two sons, Dale Walser and wife Vickie of St. Louis, MO, and Ricky Walser of the home; three daughters, Pat Kimbrell and husband Billy of Lexington, Marie Snyder and husband Tom of Durham and Gale Smith and husband David of Thomasville; seven grandchildren, Brandi Osborne and husband Chris, Rudy Morez, Kelly Snyder, Katie Snyder, Jessie Smith, Sami Smith and Zach Smith; two great-grandchildren, Tatum and Evan Osborne.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 pm Tuesday night at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington and at other times at the home of daughter Pat Kimbrell, 116 Brandi Drive, Lexington.
