Jo Anne Alexander

Jo Anne “Jody” Alexander, 77, of Piedmont Crossing formerly of Lexington, died Thursday, December 6, 2007, at Piedmont Crossing. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church by Dr. Ray Howell 3rd. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Miss Alexander was born January 22, 1930 in Tulsa, Okla., to Boyce Alexander and Mildred Gaffney Alexander. She attended Stewart Home School in Frankfort, Ky. Miss Alexander made her home in Spartanburg, S.C., and Lexington, N.C. She was also a volunteer for the American Red Cross in Lexington. Miss Alexander was preceded in death by her parents and a cousin, Zade Garvin, maternal aunt, Marjorie Stallings and maternal uncle, William Russell Gaffney. Surviving are aunts, Minnie Turner of River Landing in Colfax, N.C. and Margaret Gaffney of Spartanburg, S.C.; and cousins, Mickie Borders of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Delaine Routh of Pinehurst, Peggy Valletta of Morristown, N.J., Fran Gaffney of New York, N.Y., Margie Cohan of Atlanta, Ga., Kathy Gaffney of Spartanburg, S.C., William Russell Gaffney Jr. of Greensboro; and Joy and Ron McLaughlin of Asheboro.
