Jo was born on April 30, 1938, in Swain County, to the late Paul Allen Anderson and Bonnie Mae Branton Anderson. She worked for many years until her retirement from Link Taylor Furniture.
She will be remembered for the joy she found in shopping—not for herself, but as a way to show love, always thinking of others as she chose each item. Those trips, especially with her grandchildren, became small adventures filled with laughter, conversation, and time together, moments that were never about the purchase but about being present with those she loved most.
Though she expressed her love in a myriad of ways, one of the most favored was through her natural talent of cooking and baking. Holidays were full of cakes, sweets, and cookies, and family meals were always special moments. She set herself apart from all others with the flavors she created that couldn’t be matched by any recipe.
The sweetest display of love, however, was her time and support. Her family and friends were always at the forefront of her thoughts and actions, and she would do anything in her power to make sure they were taken care of. Her selfless spirit was truly one of a kind.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Charles (Marilyn) Anderson; and sisters, Pauline Gobble, and Gladys Mae (David) Ayers.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, John Eanes Jr, of the home; children, Cindy Wall (Greg), Eddie (Patsy) Ricker, and Mike Ricker; sisters, June (Terry) Conrad, and Wanda (Tony) Kennedy; brother, Steve (Brenda) Anderson; grandchildren, Teddy Ricker, Timmy Ricker, Cole Ricker, Catye (Josh) Ricker, Hillary (Steven) Markham, and Chase (Taylor) Wall; great grandchildren, Cameron Ricker, Karissa Ricker, Jatye Ricker, Capri Wall, and Nora Markham; special niece, Ann Trexler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
