Joan Sink Phillips

Joan Sink Phillips, age 88 of Friendship Church Road, Lexington passed away Monday morning June 22, 2020 at her home.

A graveside servce will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Peeler officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.

Joan was born in Davidson County, NC on February 29, 1932 to Clem W. Sink and Edna Myers Sink. She was a graduate of Reeds High School and Ashemore Business College and retired from Reeds Elementary School after 34 years of service. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charlie Clifford “Cliff” Phillips; deceased infant son; grandsons, Jason Phillips and Richard Nash; sisters, Blanche and Mildred Lanning; brothers, Alvin, Henry, Lacy, Earl, Claude and infant Luther Sink.

Surviving are her daughter, Sheila Robertson (Ken) of Advance; sons, Doug Phillips (Brenda) and Phil Phillips of Lexington; grandchildren, Cory Robertson (Crystal), Jeremy Phillips and Erin Robertson Doss (Adam) and great-grandson, Barrett Robertson; sisters, Nellie Phillips and Mary Berrier of Lexington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to charity of donor’s choice.
