Joann Barnhill

JoAnn Evelyn Newton Barnhill, 68, of Turner Rd., Lexington died Monday in Wake Forest U. Baptist Medical Center after several years of declining health. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007 at DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL with Rev. Clarence Ballew and Rev. Jeff Walser officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Barnhill was born December 7, 1939 in Cleveland County, NC to Fred Newton and Connie Bell Self Newton. A former employee of Lexington Furniture Industries, she attended Near Calvery Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Francis Eugene “Barney” Barnhill, Dec. 4, 2006, a son, Ricky Barnhill and a brother, W.F. Newton. Surviving are two sons, Keith Barnhill and wife, Melissa; Jimmy Dean Barnhill all of Lexington; a daughter, Vicky Barnhill of Lexington; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and an aunt, Ruth Sparks of Hickory, NC. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday and other times at the home.
