Joann Swinson, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 4th, 2025, at the age of 89. Born Thursday, May 14th, 1936, Joann lived a life full of love, dedication, and joy.

Joann’s life revolved around family, and she was known for putting loved ones first, always offering her unconditional love and support. She found much joy in spending treasured moments with her family.

Joann is survived by her devoted daughters, Sherri Moree and Tina Leonard. She leaves behind a cherished legacy with her grandchildren, Madison Dabney (Sterling), Isaiah Moree (Alana), Ethan Moree (Brianna), and Connor Leonard, as well as her beloved great-grandchildren, Charlie Dabney, Tenley Moree, Cohen Moree, and Joanna Moree. Joann's family was her pride and joy, and she adored each of them deeply.

In addition to her family, Joann is remembered by her very special lifelong friend, Tonie Sink, whose companionship enriched her life for many years. Joann was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Rodwell Foster, and her mother, Nona Mae Lanning Foster.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 12th, at 1 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2 pm at the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel, where family and friends will gather to celebrate the life and legacy of Joann.

In honor of Joann's compassionate spirit, donations may be made to the Thomasville Medical Center at 207 Old Lexington Rd, Thomasville, NC 27360. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered love and support during this time of loss.

Joann's warmth, laughter, and unwavering love will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
