Joanne Coleman Babiak

JoAnne Coleman Babiak, 79, of Stanley, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2024.

JoAnne was born September 30, 1944, in Fort Myers, Florida to Roy Calvin Coleman and Murial Helen Beaton Coleman. She was preceded in death by her parents, her longtime companion, James Harris, and her daughter, Cheryl Birdwell.

Known for her love and kindness, JoAnne will be dearly missed by all who knew her. JoAnne’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing.

Surviving are two sons, Kevin Thorpe (Peggy) of Hertford, North Carolina and Michael Butler of Stanley, North Carolina. Grandchildren, Melissa Birdwell, Christian Thorpe, and Mathew Birdwell.

Celebration of Life will be held Noon on Sunday, April 21st at the Lakefront Pavilion at Mountain Creek Park, 6554 Little Mountain Rd, Sherrills Ford, North Carolina.  Lunch will be provided after.
