Joanne Hunkler Burns

Joanne Hunkler Burns, age 70 of Gibson Pond Way, Lexington passed away Saturday morning April 9, 2016 at Hinkle Hospice House. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic church with Father Ambrose Akinwande officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday night. Joanne was born in Cook County, IL July 1, 1945 to Alfred Vincent Hunkler and Eleanor Konieczko Hunkler. She was a former employee of Bell South and attended Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bobby Gene Burns, Sr. in 2006; sister, Jacilynn Hunkler and a brother, Alfred V. Hunkler. Surviving are her daughters, Kimberly Dalton (Reginald) and Lisa Grubb both of Lexington; sons, Bobby Gene Burns, Jr. (Amy) of Ashtabula, Ohio and Gary Burns of Linwood, Christopher Burns of Lexington and William Burns (Misty) of Thomasville; 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
