Jodeane Swing Leonard

August 31, 1932 — January 9, 2010

JoDeane Swing Leonard, age 77 of Fairview Drive, Lexington passed away Saturday Morning (January 9, 2010) at Brookstone Nursing Home.  A Memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday (January 12, 2010) at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Derek Boggs officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.   Mrs. Leonard was born in Davidson County, August 31, 1932 to Herman Key Swing and Thama Young Swing.  She was a graduate of Lexington High School Class of 1949 and attended Salem College. She was a homemaker; a member and former organist of First Lutheran Church, former organist for First Presbyterian Church and St. Timothy’s United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Rabb D. Leonard, November 19, 2003 and a sister Jeane A. Swing.   Surviving are; one daughter, Tamala Deane Leonard Aiken of Anderson, SC; two sons, Rabb Daniel Leonard, and wife Carol Bailey Leonard and Christopher Daws Leonard and wife Wendy Scroggs Leonard all of Lexington; five grandchildren, Hayley Leonard, Chad Leonard, Danielle Leonard, Kelsey Leonard and Joshua Oglesby.   The family will receive friends in the Family Life Center of First Lutheran Church from 1:00 until 2:00 pm Tuesday, prior to the service and at other times at the home of a son, Danny Leonard, 219 Del Vista Drive, Lexington.   In lieu of flowers memorials should be directed to First Lutheran Church Building Fund, PO Box 308, Lexington, NC  27293 or Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC  27292   Arrangements by Davidson Funeral Home Lexington   Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
