Joe David Beanblossom, 81, of Paddington Drive, died Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Palliative Care.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2011, at Holloways Baptist Church, with the Rev. Craig Barnhill and Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2011, at Davidson Funeral Home.
Mr. Beanblossom was born September 12, 1929, in Davidson County. He was employed as a purchasing agent with Link Taylor Furniture Company where he retired after 41 years. Following his retirement he worked while his health permitted as a delivery driver for Car Quest for a number of years. He was a member of West Lexington Lion Club where he was awarded the Lion of the year award and was named a Melvin Jones Fellow. Mr. Beanblossom served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 8; he was also a Charter member of Wesley Heights United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Troy Beanblossom.
Surviving are his wife, of almost 63 years, Ruth Hedrick Beanblossom of the home; daughter, Pat Reich and husband, Eric, of Lexington; brothers, Bob Beanblossom and wife, Sara, Jim Beanblossom and wife, Wanda, all of Lexington, and Tom Beanblossom of Denton; and his cat Muffin.
