Joe Beck

Joe Lee Beck, 89 of East Old Hwy 64, Lexington died Tuesday March 19, 2013 at Wake Forest Lexington Medical Center after an illness of two weeks. The funeral will be Thursday March 21, 2013 at 4:00 PM at Hedrick’s Grove United Church of Christ where he was a member with Rev. William Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 PM prior to the service at the Hedrick’s Grove United Church of Christ. Mr. Beck was born in Davidson County on October 18, 1923 to John Henry Beck and Iva Lohr Beck. He was co-owner of Beck Milling and his great love and respect for the land was why his passion was farming. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Lohr Beck, Cromer Beck, Odell Beck, Lawrence Beck, Clois Beck and sister Kathleen Beck Thompson. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Edith Greer Beck, son Joey Greer Beck and wife Anita of Lexington, grandson Cody Huston Beck.
