Joe Dillard

Joe Von Dillard, 83, of Maple Court, died Sunday, September 23 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem.

A graveside service will be held at 1pm Wednesday, September 26 at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home.

Mr. Dillard was born January 22, 1935 in Davidson County to John Sherman Dillard and Hessie Hall Dillard.  He owned and operated Lexington Municipal Airport (now Davidson County Airport) for forty years.  His wife of forty-four years, Joyce Rollins Dillard, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Roberts (Steve) of Lexington; his brother, Bob Dillard (Maxine) of Sebring, FL; his sister, Martha Trantham (Tom) of Lexington; his granddaughter, Carley Mitchell (Chase) of Lexington; and his special friend, Evelyn Leonard of Lexington.
