July 22, 1934 — December 7, 2006

Joe Von Everhart, 72, of Becks Church Road, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, at the home of his daughter on Beck's Church Road. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Rev. Allan Vanmeter and Dr. Charles Hutchens. Burial will follow in Beck's United Church of Christ Cemetery. Mr. Everhart was born July 22, 1934, to Thomas Moses Everhart and Mildred Hedgie Black Everhart. He retired from Burlington Furniture Industries in 1985 and continued with his maintenance business until 2001. He was also a retired volunteer firefighter at Central Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lera Swing Everhart, on May 21, 1992; and a brother, Thomas Everhart. Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Everhart Clark and her husband, Kenneth, of Lexington and Donna Jarvis and her husband, Eugene, of Archdale; four grandchildren, Toney Clark and his wife, Amy, Wendy Moore and her husband, Tim, of Lexington, Thomas Folsom and his wife, Michelle, and Dawn McDuffie and her husband, David, of Archdale; six great-grandchildren, Jennifer Clark, Dalton Clark and Timothy Andrew Moore III, all of Lexington, and Kyndal Folsom, Kaidyn Folsom and Jackson McDuffie, all of Archdale; two brothers, Dwight Everhart and Boyd Everhart; and four sisters, Jennie Ree Shoaf, Jean Sink, Barbara McCrary and Janet Mahaffey. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter on Becks' Church Road. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to Hospice of Davidson County, P.O. Box 1941, Lexington, NC 27293.
