Joe Ray Poole, 85, of Lexington, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Smith Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with Pastor Johnathan Laws officiating.
Joe was born on February 14, 1938, in Mecklenburg County, to the late Jesse Franklin Poole and Mary Shaffer Poole. After he served his country in the Navy, he worked and retired from North Carolina Furnishings. Among his hobbies was NASCAR, and he enjoyed watching it. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his six brothers.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Linda Kay McCrary of Churchland, Margaret Marshall of Kernersville, Evelyn Finney of Welcome, and Barbara Poole of Kernersville; and his brother, Pat Poole of Kannapolis.
