Joel Franklin Byrd, Sr.

Joel Franklin Byrd, Sr., age 85, of Lexington went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 29, 2020 at Lexington Health Care.

A private memorial service will be held in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Elizabeth Horton officiating.

Mr. Byrd was born in Davidson County on March 2, 1935 to George V. Byrd and Mildred Swing Byrd. He was a veteran of the Coast Guard and was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ. Mr. Byrd founded Triangle Construction and was the President of the Company until he retired and his son took over the business. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose memory will be cherished forevermore. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Joel “Rusty” Franklin Byrd, Jr. (Tina) and Lee Ann Poole all of Lexington; a sister, Ramona B. Yarbrough of Lexington; two grandchildren, Tyler Neeley and Kazie Martin (Sean); and two great-grandchildren, Ally Neeley and Finley Neeley.
