Joel Tysinger

June 7, 1945 — December 10, 2017

Joel Herman “Buddy” Tysinger, age 72 of Parks Road, Lexington passed away Sunday morning December 10, 2017 at the NC State Veterans Home in Salisbury.   A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church in Lexington with the Rev. Edwin Chriscoe and Rev. Darby Gaither officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service also at the church.   Joel was born in Davidson County, NC on June 7, 1945 to Paul Matthew Tysinger and Mildred Irene Swicegood Tysinger. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force proudly serving from 1967 to 1971.   He worked for Garner Construction and Billings Transfer in Lexington, NC.  His favorite pastime was watching UNC Tarheels basketball and watching his three daughters and grandchildren play many different varieties of sports.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, JoRee Clark of Morganton.   Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Sharon Moore Tysinger of the home; daughter, Michelle Laws (Mark) of Lexington; Sandy Lowe (Doug) of Lexington; Joanna Richardson (Will) of Wilmington; grandchildren Justin Laws (Sayje) of Orlando, Florida; Jordan Laws (Kellie); Haley Lowe; Jessica Laws; Trent Lowe all of Lexington; William Richardson; Lillian Richardson of Wilmington; and a brother, Steve Tysinger (Linda) of Lexington.   In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, c/o Rev. Edwin Chriscoe, 450 Hillview Drive, Lexington, NC 27292 and Alzheimer’s Association, 4615 Dundas Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407 .
