Joey Dean Poole, 56, of Davidson County, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, at his home.

Joey was born on June 14, 1969, in Davidson County, to the late Ralph Monk “Bud” Poole and Mary Jo Barnes Poole.

Joey was a man of simple pleasures, taking life a day at a time. He never needed extravagance to find happiness, instead harvesting joy from his family and friends. Riding his motorcycle on pretty days, feeling the wind was an exhilarating pastime in which he often took part.

He left an impression upon anyone and anything he encountered, whether it was on a physical medium while he crafted his woodworking skills, the souls of animals he came across, or the hearts of his family and friends. Nothing and no one were the same after meeting Joey.

The word “stranger” was not in his vocabulary, as he made a friend with whoever he met. He was a gentle giant who nurtured all he loved, but his devotion to his wife and daughter was paramount. There was nothing he wouldn’t do to make sure they were loved and provided for. They were his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donna Poole, of the home; daughter, Kailynn Poole (Kent); brother, Ralph Kent Poole; sisters, Nancy Joyce Stamey and Paula deBettencourt; and precious fur babies, Millie P, Luna Belle, and Mr. Bubbs.

His light and love will shine continue to shine through those who knew and loved him.
