Joey Tucker

James Joseph "Joey" Tucker, 18, of Beck's Church Road, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, from injuries he received in an automobile accident in High Point. A celebration of life memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Rev. Tommy Lupton. Mr. Tucker was born Dec. 7, 1987, in Davidson County to Lenoir Davis Tucker and Shannon Johanna Gregg. He attended Sumner Baptist Church in Greensboro. He was a gifted writer, guitar player and vocalist. He played with the Davis Tucker Band, Mother Tucker Bluegrass Band and the Tuck Squared. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Butch Gregg. Surviving are his father of the home; his mother of Palm City, Fla.; paternal grandparents Joseph F. Tucker and Helen Tucker of Greensboro; maternal grandmother Johanna Gregg of Morehead City; an aunt and uncle, Barbara and Woody Marshall of Macon, Ga.; an uncle, Jae Gregg and his wife, Julie, of Lexington; and a cousin, Seth Gregg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Monday at the funeral home and other times at the home. Memorials donations for Joey may be directed to Angel Band Foundation at any BB&T bank.
