John Wayne Blevins

John Wayne Blevins, 70, of Dacotah Street, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at his home. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Courtney Crowson officiating. Burial will follow at noon in National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013, at the funeral home. Mr. Blevins was born February 21, 1943, in Scott County, Arkansas, to Woodrow Wilson Blevins and Eunice Barrett Blevins. He was retired from Stone Container. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Joe Blevins and Harlon Ray Blevins; and a sister, Patricia Blevins. Surviving are his loving wife, Brenda Haralson Blevins; sons, Randy Blevins (Lori) of Lexington, Barry Blevins (Debra) of High Point, daughter, Sharon Houghton (Dan) of Greenville, Ohio, sons Tim Blevins (Charlene) of Deridder, La., and Mark Blevins of Weed, Ca.;; five grandchildren, Krissy Houghton, Alex Houghton, Bailey Blevins, Mallory Blevins, and Christopher Blevins; brother, Allan Blevins of Mt. Shasta, Ca.; and sister, Beth Ann Jackson of Weed, Ca. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
