John Dave Brogdon

January 12, 1953 — September 26, 2019

John Dave Brogdon, 66, of Lexington passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, October 1 at Freedom Baptist Church officiated by Preacher Clyde Akers.  Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery.

Visitation with family and friends will be held Monday evening, September 30 th , from 6-8pm at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington and other times at the home.

John was born on January 12, 1953 in Davidson County to David Arnold and Evelyn Michael Brogdon.  He was co-owner for 45 years of Dave Machine Company and was a member of Freedom Baptist Church.  John loved hunting, visiting with others, and teaching people, but his true love was his family and his grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Brandon David Brogdon.

Surviving are his loving wife of 42 years, Gearleen Tollie Brogdon, of the home; brother, Benjamin Brogdon (Tina) of Lexington; sister, Luanne Tollie (Kenny) of Lexington; grandchildren, Brandon David Brogdon, Jr., Kailyn Evans, Bryson Evans and their mother, Krystal Evans, all of Lexington. Also surviving are two special nieces, Kim Perdue and Kerrie Owen, both of Lexington, as well as other special nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Freedom Baptist Church, 214 Hillcrest Court, Lexington, NC 27295.
